01 What this policy covers

This policy covers Kitchen Calendar, the Apple TV app published by KRT LLC. It explains what the app reads, where that information is kept, and what KRT LLC can see. It is written in language a person can read once and understand. If a sentence in it is unclear, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.

Kitchen Calendar has no account. You do not sign up, you do not give us an email address, and there is no password to lose. The app runs on your Apple TV and talks to one calendar you point it at.

02 What the app uses

Kitchen Calendar shows one shared calendar on your television. To do that it needs one thing from you: the secret iCal address of a Google Calendar you already control.

You paste that address into Settings on the Apple TV. The app reads the calendar feed at that address and draws what it finds: today’s agenda, what is coming up next, the week, and the month.

• Event titles, times, dates, and locations, as they appear in the calendar you pointed at.
• Nothing about who is watching the television.
• No contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location.

The app does not write to your calendar. It only reads.

03 Where your calendar address is kept

The secret iCal address is stored in the Keychain on your Apple TV, inside an access group shared only by Kitchen Calendar and its own Top Shelf extension. It is not copied to a KRT LLC server, because there is no KRT LLC server in this product.

04 What KRT LLC receives from the app

Nothing. There is no analytics package in the app, no crash reporter that reports to us, no advertising identifier, no tracking, and no third party that receives your calendar data from the app.

Your Apple TV requests the calendar feed directly from Google. That request goes from your home to Google. It does not pass through anything KRT LLC operates.

That covers the app. There is one place KRT LLC receives something from you, and only if you choose to use it: the contact form on this website. Section 09 says what it collects.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not have it.

Do you share it with anyone?

No. We do not have it.

Does Apple see it?

Apple sees whatever it normally sees for any app installed on an Apple TV, which is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy, not this one.

05 The built-in sample calendar

Kitchen Calendar ships with a small sample calendar so you can see how the app looks before you connect anything of your own. The sample is made of invented events stored inside the app. Using it makes no network request at all.

06 Keeping and deleting your data

The app keeps the calendar it fetched only so the screen can redraw quickly. That copy lives on the Apple TV.

How to remove everything

• Open Settings inside Kitchen Calendar and clear the calendar address. The stored address is removed from the Keychain.
• Or delete the app from your Apple TV. tvOS removes the app’s stored data along with it.
• Or reset the secret address in Google Calendar, which stops the old address from working anywhere.

Because KRT LLC never received your calendar, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no deletion request to file with us.

07 Children

Kitchen Calendar is a household calendar, so children will see it. The app is not directed at children, does not ask anyone for personal information, and does not know who is in the room. A family calendar may of course contain events about children, and that content stays in the calendar you control.

08 Changes to this policy

If the app changes what it reads or where it keeps it, this page changes first and the effective date at the top moves. Old versions are not hidden. If a change is significant, the app itself will say so the next time you open it.

Questions about this policy, or about the app not working, go to the same place.

If you use the contact form, we receive the email address you type, which product your message is about, and the message itself. Those are held by Kit, the service KRT LLC uses to receive and answer messages, and we use them to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell them, and we do not pass them to anyone else. The form is the only part of this that involves the website. The app itself still sends us nothing.
